Bumper Book Review Special!: The Hunger Games Part 1: Book 1

Ah, Three Posts in One Day!

Time for a Book Review I think!

Today the Hunger Games! Yep, you have seen it on Bus' on your TV but have you read the book? I have and strongly recommend you to read the book BEFORE you watch the Movie. This little gem by Suzanne Collins is a fantasy-adventure novel. But don't let that put you off boys, or the fact that we have a feisty, archer heroine as our main-character, his book is overall brilliant.

The book starts explaining about the situation the world is in. After what is presumed to be WW3, Survivors from North America begin to re-build a city to live in. But it is not all Fun and Games. The City is called the Capitol, and to keep them satisfied they create 13 Districts. One for everything they could possibly need. They lived in slums, while Capitol Citizens only knew Couture and Dining Etiquette while living in Luxury beyond your wildest dreams. But then the 13 Districts rebel. Slowly at first but then a full scale war erupted between them. The capitol one successful in destroying 1 full district, 13. And the Capitol, to prevent it happening again, decreed that 1 man and 1 woman under the age of 18 would be picked from each district to compete in the Hunger Games, a brutal fight to the Death. The winner gets guaranteed rich and fortune in the Victors Village, but the 23 unlucky ones are doomed to a grisly death. And so we depart from the past and go to Katniss a 14 year old girl from District 12-Mining.

We will move onto her in Part 2 but for now goodnight cause it is time for my tea sausages and chips, all homemade! YUMMERS!

Goodbye Folks,
Till the Next Time,
Beanpole
